The Product recall on vehicles with Takata Airbag Inflators and spare parts continues.

Manufactures are currently replacing Takata Airbag Inflators and spare parts.  Auctioneers are considered as independent dealers and you must comply to the mandatory recall.
Auction House Impact

Before you sell any vehicle:

  • Conduct a VIN check
  • Suspend sale of any vehicle which is under active recall until vehicle has had airbag replaced
  • Future recall notification for effected vehicles
  • Contact any party who has purchased a vehicle subject to recall and seek consent to provide details to the manufacturer

Working with manufacturers

Manufactures are legally required to replace all products effected by the product recall.  This process will occur over the next couple of years.  AVAA members can access a list of manufacturers with contact details and current recall link.
